Our Process
We will meet you onsite and walk through the home covering any additions, alterations and assist with professional recommendations if required.
Once the plastering/sheeting team have completed their work, we will cut out our switches, power points and lighting readying the home for fit off.
Prior to our team commencing fit off, it will be important that you are organised and have all appliances and fixtures onsite to avoid any delays.
Now that we have completed the fit off, an inspection will be booked and a certificate of electrical safety will be issued to you for your certificate of occupancy.
What is a switchboard?
Your switchboard is a device that distributes electricity from a central hub out to your final sub-circuits.
The distribution takes place through a network of cables originating from the sub-board. These final sub-circuits may include lights, power points, oven, hot water system, and air-conditioning units.
The function of your switchboard Is to provide safe isolation of a circuit if it needs to be worked on or to disconnect in the event of a fault. If your house is older, it is likely that your circuits are not currently protected by an RCD. When compared to its counterparts, an RCD (residual current device) provides additional fault protection via earth leakage and is required to switch off within 30mili seconds.
RCD’S are a great consideration for the safety of your family and we highly recommend any existing home that isn’t currently upgraded to make this a priority.
